Position Overview:

Fashion Thrift Society is a dynamic fashion events company, as we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team.

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to manage all financial transactions, from purchases and sales to expenses and revenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, preferably in the events or fashion industry. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our fashion events, providing accurate and timely financial information for decision-making purposes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in recording transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions regularly.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and process invoices, expense reports and purchase orders.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring for fashion events, providing insights and recommendations as needed.
  • Work closely with event planners and vendors to ensure timely payment and resolution of any financial discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Assist with payroll processing and compliance with relevant tax regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the events.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance or a related field (preferred but not required).
