Careers | Junior Traveling Events Coordinator at Fashion Thrift Society
WE’RE HIRING: JUNIOR EVENT COORDINATOR (MELBOURNE BASED)
2 weekends away a month + weekday office hours in-between travel • Entry-level with progression for senior role
Fashion Thrift Society is expanding! We’re looking for a Junior Event Coordinator to join our events team and help deliver the biggest and most exciting fashion markets in Australia. Based out of our Melbourne HQ, you’ll work closely with our Event Coordinators and broader team to help plan and execute events that bring thousands of fashion lovers together.
This role is perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented, thrives in a high-energy environment, and is ready to get stuck into large-scale event work. After completing a 3-month probation, you'll have the opportunity to run select events solo with a small team underneath you — this is a real growth role with hands-on experience from day one.
Please note: Prior event experience is essential — whether that’s from working on markets, festivals, expos, corporate events or anything in between. We’re looking for someone who’s already had a taste of the events world and is ready to level up.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
- Assist in the planning, prep, and execution of FTS events nationally
- Liaise with stallholders, vendors, venue teams, and internal staff
- Create and manage checklists, vendor packs, and floorplans
- Help coordinate the bump-in and bump-out process on event days
- Travel 2 weekends per month for event delivery (flights, accom, food and all travel expenses covered)
- Support site-wide communication via radios + run sheets
- Work collaboratively with our content, activations, and influencer teams
- Be hands-on with styling, signage, installations, and creative brand moments
YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE IF YOU:
- Are super organised and get satisfaction from ticking off a to-do list
- Have previous experience working in events (this one’s a must!)
- Are confident communicating with a variety of people, with an out-going personality and friendly approach
- Have a natural ability to stay calm and solutions-focused under pressure
- Have a strong interest in events, or creative brand experiences
- Are available to work weekends and travel regularly
- Thrive working in a small, fast-paced, passionate team
PERKS:
- Work with Australia’s biggest fashion market team
- Travel nationally with a fun and tight-knit crew
- Potential to step into a leadership role within 3 months
- Learn from experienced event professionals and build your dream career in events
- Be part of creating a cultural movement for fashion lovers around the country
- Competitive salary
