Position Overview:
We’re seeking a creative and energetic Senior Events Coordinator to lead the planning, execution, and success of our large-scale fashion markets. On event days, you will act as the Operations Manager, overseeing the entire on-site execution to ensure each market runs smoothly and efficiently. This full-time role requires travel on a minimum of two weekends per month (Saturday and Sunday), with event setup the day prior and hands-on involvement on the day of the event.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Execution: Plan, organise, and execute our fashion events across multiple locations, ensuring every detail is flawless. From budgeting to vendor negotiations, you’ll bring each event to life.
On-Site Operations Management: On event days, you will serve as the Operations Manager, responsible for overseeing the setup, vendor coordination, crowd management, and all on-site logistics, ensuring seamless event execution from start to finish.
Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of junior event staff and volunteers, ensuring everyone understands their roles. You'll collaborate with our marketing, sales, and logistics teams to align efforts for successful events.
Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the face of Fashion Thrift Society, engaging with clients and stakeholders to ensure their expectations are exceeded.
Innovation: Bring fresh ideas to the table, keeping our events unique and ahead of industry trends.
Problem Solving: Anticipate challenges and think on your feet, ensuring any issues are resolved swiftly and efficiently.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all our events comply with relevant laws, safety standards, and organisational policies.
About You:
- 2-5 years of event coordination experience in roles such as music festivals, weddings, expos, conventions, or large-scale public events. PLEASE NOTE: This position is a senior role and industry experience is non negotiable.
- Proven experience in event coordination and social media marketing, particularly with large-scale events.
- A Melbourne-based professional able to work from our Brunswick office on non travel days.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and crowd management skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with an outgoing and confident personality.
- Flexibility to travel a minimum of two weekends per month, with all travel expenses covered.
- Ability to thrive autonomously while working collaboratively with a creative team.
Work Schedule & Benefits:
- Full-time position of 38 hours per week, with weekend travel for event coordination. Hybrid travel/office work.
